Ferrari to Music: A Recital by a renowned Composer at The Ferrari Museum

A group of journalist took part in a special F12Berlinetta track day at Fiorano.  Assisted by Ferrari's engineers and team test-drivers, they were given the opportunity to really clock up the mile as they endeavored to push both themselves and the car to the limit.  The group learned to really use the 740 hp unleashed by the mid-front V12 engine and the sporty car's brilliant natural balance to the fullest as well. The wet track also allowed the journalists t experiment with the different Manettino settings to push the car's performance in a variety of grip levels.  But all the dynamic controls were off when Scuderia Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen got behind the wheel and provided some very special instructions.  The guests enjoyed the thrill of lapping Fiorano at the World Champion's side as he gave vent to the Ferrari F12Berlinetta's awesome power, delivering not only a record performance in the fastest car in the Ferrari range, but also great fun.

Ferrari’s new FXX K research and development programme will receive its world premiere next weekend at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The laboratory-car is based on Maranello’s first hybrid model and will grace the world’s tracks from next year onwards. The K in its moniker is a reference to the “KERS” kinetic energy recovery system it adopts in maximising its track performance.  Unfettered by homologation and racing regulations, the FXX K will never be used in competition. It was, in fact, developed to be completely uncompromising, incorporating technological innovations that will guarantee an unprecedented driving experience to the exclusive group of Client-Test Drivers with whom the Prancing Horse will roll out a test programme over the coming two years.

In recent days, the women and men of Ferrari had asked on several occasions for a farewell meeting and embrace with Mr. Montezemolo before he leaves Maranello after 23 years. Although clearly unable to speak with each employee individually, Montezemolo was eager to meet with them as a group, having already spoken to the Gestione Sportiva Formula 1 Division before the team’s departure for the Japanese and Russian Grand Prix. “It’s not easy…” were the words with which a visibly moved Luca di Montezemolo began his farewell address to the employees of Ferrari’s GT Division last afternoon. He was, unsurprisingly, interrupted several times with long applause from the assembled audience.
