Fiat to merge with PSA Peugeot-Citroen?
The possibility is very real, with both sides' leaders having held discussions on the matter.

In bad times, (or in this case, terrible times), banding together may be one of the best ways for automakers to keep themselves afloat.
Fiat's CEO, Sergio Marchionne, has been quoted as saying that the company would need to find another automotive partner to ensure their survival in the midst of the economic downturn.
Analysts have pointed out that a merger between the Italian and French companies does make a lot of sense. Both companies specialize in making small cars, previously having collaborated on the Citroen Jumper and Fiat Ducato vans.
Should Fiat and PSA Peugeot-Citroen merge, they could easily become the fourth largest car manufacturer in the world, with an output rivaling Renault-Nissan and Volkswagen.
