Global News: Volvo and Ford Wins Award at LA Autoshow
A panel of 19 American automotive media has announced their International Car and Truck of the Year winners.

The American motoring industry has awarded the Ford Taurus and the Volvo XC60 as 2010 car and truck of the year respectively.
The American International Car and Truck of the year awards jury is made up of journalists and editors of various media publications such as Edmunds.com, Kelley Blue Book, Consumer Guide Automotive, Yahoo! Autos, Auto Week, MSN Autos, Caranddriver.com, and Cars.com to name a few. The award has gradually become the 'Academy Awards of Cars'.
The award focuses on how compatible the vehicles are to the lifestyles of its drivers and how well the manufacturers achieve that goal.
The Ford Taurus combines class-leading technologies with confident, engaging driving dynamics on top of its sporty design. It features an impressive set of standard and available technologies that add convenience, connectivity, safety and value for customers, such as Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross Traffic Alert, MyKey™ parental programmability, Ford SYNC® and Voice-Activated Navigation with SIRIUS Travel Link™.
The XC60 is the first vehicle to offer City Safety as standard equipment. This unique Volvo technology can help the driver avoid frontal collisions at low speed. If the driver is about to drive into the rear of a vehicle and does not react in time, the XC60 will apply the brakes by itself.
