The Passat BlueMotion (fuel consumption: 5.1 – 5.2 l/100 km; CO2 emissions: 136 – 137 g/km) ranks among the most environmentally friendly cars in the world. At the New York International Auto Show, a jury of international judges voted it into the top 3 of the “World Green Cars 2008”. With remarkable fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, the Passat BlueMotion successfully competed against several hybrid models and a fuel cell car. Volkswagen currently offers seven models under the BlueMotion label; further are set to follow shortly.
