The Telmex racing team, which is owned by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, was recently named in the Italian press as the "savior" of the Honda F1 team.

Telmex however, responded by stating that Mr. Slim "has not bought, nor is negotiating to buy the Brackley based outfit."

Adding more weight to this is Honda Team Boss Ross Brawn, who also denied that Carlos Slim would be buying the team. He did mention however, that Honda is currently in talks with several interested parties, and that "everything was in place for a buyer to pick up and bring the team to the 2009 season opening race in Australia."
