Hyundai’s 2030 Game Plan Is About More Than Just EVs
The company is keeping hybrids firmly in the mix as it expands its EV range and prepares to launch its first EREVs in 2027.

Hyundai is going big on growth. At its 2026 CEO Investor Day, the Korean automaker reaffirmed its target of 5.55 million global vehicle sales by 2030, while planning more than 100 new models and refreshes over the same period.

Hyundai expects electrified vehicles to make up 60% of global sales by 2030, up from 23% in 2025. But hybrids will remain a key part of the mix alongside pure EVs and the company's upcoming EREVs.
The first Extended Range Electric Vehicles are due in the first half of 2027, with Hyundai targeting more than 965 km of range. The first will be a Santa Fe EREV, built in Alabama for the US market.

There’s plenty more coming. Seven new vehicles are due within the next eight months, including the new Elantra, IONIQ 3, Tucson and Tucson Hybrid, plus new SUVs for India and Europe.
Hyundai will also add 1.27 million units of global manufacturing capacity by 2030, including 500,000 in North America. Local parts sourcing in the region will rise from 60% to 80%.

Its Genesis luxury arm is getting a major push too. The GV90 flagship, Genesis’ first hybrid and a new EREV SUV targeting more than 1,030 km of range are all part of the plan. Genesis wants 350,000 annual sales across more than 40 markets by 2030.
Hyundai is also pushing into robotaxis and robotics. Waymo IONIQ 5 robotaxis begin deliveries in Q4 2026, while Boston Dynamics’ Atlas humanoid robot is targeted for deployment at Hyundai’s Georgia plant from 2028.

On the money side, Hyundai has raised its 2030 operating profit margin target to above 9%, up from its previous 8–9% guidance. It plans to cut its cost-of-sales ratio by three percentage points.
