Is Your Civic Hybrid Driving You Nuts?

Of the total number of cars to be recalled, 38,116 have been sold overseas, though mostly in the US. The affected vehicles were manufactured between September 2005 and September 2006.

Honda had only learnt of the bug from overseas reports, which found that a short circuit could occur, thus shutting down the engine and even preventing it from being restarted. Fortunately, there have been no reports of accidents as a result as yet.

The company plans to notify the owners in Japan by mail and repair the defective components. Overseas recalls and repairs will be carried out in accordance to the local regulations.
