Back for the third time at the Singapore Motorshow, stunt driver Russ Swift (right, with MotorImage CEO, Glenn Tan) will attempt to set a new Guiness World Record on the Press Day (9th November) of the Singapore Motorshow. In 2004, Russ set the record for making 10 complete spins (or doughnuts) with a car in just 16.07 seconds – or 1.6 seconds per turn – and he will attempt to break this record here in Singapore. Russ Swift did it again! The victory was even sweeter as the record was broken on 9th November – the official World Guinness Record Day. In 2004, stunt performer Russ Swift made 10 complete revolutions with a car (also known as Doughnuts) in just 16.07 seconds, making it a mere 1.6 seconds for one complete revolution, winning him a place in the Guinness World Record. This record was broken in January 2006 at 14.81 seconds. Today, Russ attempted to improve the timing. At the third attempt, he clocked 14.59 seconds. This was achieved using an unmodified Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Russ attempted the stunts in front of more than 100 specially-invited media and spectators at an exclusive performance at the Singapore Motorshow 2006. The stunt was filmed by ESPN and witnessed by two official adjudicators.

Singapore, November 7, 2006 – At 2.56pm today, 25 year old Navy Regular, Alex Koh remained the last man standing at Ngee Ann City Civil Plaza. Exhausted, drained but certainly victorious. This was after a grueling 73 hours and 56 minutes under sun, rain and an impending haze threatening to return!
