Local News: Launch of Insignia heralds a new beginning for Opel here
Opel agent Auto Eurokars has launched the much lauded insignia executive sedan here in Singapore.
The Insignia was crowned European Car of the year two years ago and heralds the beginning of a new product offensive here in Singapore.The Insignia will be followed by the hugely important Astra hatchback later in the year.
The Insignia replaces the Vectra but has gone upmarket to compete in the executive sector instead of the large sedan price. This is reflected in its specifications. The engine is a 2-litre turbo with an impressive 220bhp and 350Nm on tap while the looks inside and out are more classy and elegant. The interior is especially impressive thanks to its Audi like finishing and quality as well as its fresh design. The Insignia also comes with a long list of standard equipment.With Its new found sophistoication and specifications means it isn't as affordable as its Vectra predecessor. At a smidgen under $159k, the Insignia is now in base BMW 3 Series territory.
