Local News: Price drops after close of COE bidding on 9 Dec
COE prices might have risen marginally after December’s first bidding exercise closed on Wednesday but Honda has bucked the rise in prices with some significant price drops across its model range.

Honda Jazz -$85,00 to $8,700
The popular compact hatchback hasn’t been flying off showroom forecourts in recent months due to its high price, which in turn is due to its relatively high OMV but Honda seems to have finally found a way around this and is offering 1.5-litre Jazz models up to $8700 more affordable than last week. 1.5-litre Jazz prices now start at a rather attractive $55,500.
Honda Civic -$3,600 to $8,300
Great news for those who’ve been eyeing on a Civic Hybrid. The highly economical four-door saloon is $8,300 cheaper after the last COE bidding. There are also price drops for the 2-litre and 1.8 models. Obviously, the Civic needs no introduction by now. Buy one and you are assured of a dependable family car that offers reasonable performance and road manners.
Honda CR-V -$6,600 to $6,900
The CR-V has always been one of the most convincing crossover SUVs around. In 2.4-litre form, it is also comprehensively equipped beyond your expectations. Prices for models of Honda’s road biased SUV are lower by as much as $6,900 after the last COE bid exercise.
Honda Freed -$3,400
The Freed has been one of the most convincing small people carriers in recent times. its boxy shape means it offers a huge and practical interior. Official Freed sales have not taken off due to its previous high price. Other than warranty benefits, there are also other forms of good to buying an official Freed – it has a five-speed automatic box instead of the PI car’s CVT and it offers twin sliding electric doors. Freed prices are cheaper by as much as $3,400 – a full six-seater is yours for under a reasonable $70k.
Honda Stream -$3,000 to $3,200
Honda’s 1.8-litre compact MPV is more than a credible rival to the common Toyota Wish. In fact, the Stream drives significantly better than its fierce rival. With prices down by up to $3,200 this week, it’s a good time to take the plunge and drive the family around in one by the time Chinese New Year comes.
