Eurokars Group launched the first of its new generation of Mazda models, one that is set to redefine the future of driving – the brand new Mazda CX-5!
Launched at a gala event at the Ritz Carlton Singapore, with more than 800 guests in attendance, this new crossover SUV is the first offering from the luxury Japanese marque to fully incorporate Mazda’s proprietary SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and its new design theme, ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’.
Mazda has taken a fresh approach to all aspects of car building and the first results of their innovative new approach is the CX-5, a crossover SUV that is built to inspire one to take the wheel and drive. The CX-5’s driving dynamics were developed to take into account not only vehicle behaviour, but also what the driver feels. Through a thorough analysis of how the vehicle responds to the driver’s intentions, Mazda’s engineers have achieved a high level of predictability and responsive handling in the CX-5.
In creating this kind of responsiveness, much of the credit falls to the new-generation SKYACTIV-G 2.0 direct injection petrol engine, which provides abundant low-end torque for acceleration that precisely matches driver intentions, while still offering outstanding fuel efficiency.
As with all Mazda models, it is not just about how the car looks and performs on the outside, but also how it feels on the inside. Comfort, convenience and flexibility were key guidelines in creating CX-5’s highly functional yet welcoming cabin. Convenience is not forgotten, and is in fact provided with astonishing innovation, as the CX-5 boasts the world’s first remote controlled fold-down 4:2:4 rear seats. This means that even with two child seats fitted, the centre seatback can be folded to enable the ‘centre-through mode’ for loading long items.
Safety is a top priority for Mazda and the CX-5 achieves the highest levels with no compromise in driving performance. With upgraded Rear Vehicle Monitoring (RVM), Secondary Collision Reduction (SCR), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Body Control Module (BCM) systems, Mazda stays true to its fundamental approach to safety – to inspire peace of mind and confidence in order to enhance driving pleasure.
As the new mainstay model of the Mazda car line up, the CX-5 is the first step in the all new Mazda journey, one that will continue with an ongoing series of fresh and innovative products.
The launch of new Mazda CX-5 also marks the 20th Anniversary of Trans Eurokars, providing yet another reason to celebrate. To mark this momentous occasion, Eurokars Group is making a substantial donation to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF). The donation will help SPMF to alleviate the financial burden faced by lower-income families in providing for their children's education.
