Coming on the heels of OPEC's (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) production cuts, Shell led the price increase when it upped prices between 5 and 7 cents per liter on January 29. The price of 95 RON currently stands at $1.546 per liter. Caltex, Esso, and SPC also raised their prices soon after.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel has gone down by 4 cents per liter, giving relief to taxi drivers and other companies which operate fleets of diesel vehicles.
