Retaining much of the look of the sedan, the new estate version is bigger on space where luggage hauling capacity has been upped to 650 litres or 1,780 litres filled to the roof. A variable load floor and multiple storage compartments also add to practicality features on the car.

Fitted with an electric tailgate and luggage cover, the quality and class of the Passat Variant is bolstered adding a more premium feel to the already well specced car that includes electric front seats with 14-way adjustable driver's seat and the Volkswagen Active Info Display that shows information such as navigation within the instrument cluster.

Connectivity features are present and accounted for as in the sedan, with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apply CarPlay in addition to the Dynaudio Confidence 700-watt sound system. Surround view cameras are also available for ease of parking.

The Variant will be powered by the 2.0l 220 hp engine paired to a 6-speed DSG gearbox making 350 Nm of torque and going to 100 km/h from a standing start in 6.9 seconds.
