Drivers needed for a good cause!

For drivers who are keen to volunteer their time to the community, the Malay Youth Literary Association is organising a charity event, [B]Ramadhan-On-Wheels 2008[/B], to help deliver hampers to needy Singaporeans.

For interested people wanting to participate in this charitable cause, do read on for further details -

[b]Event Description[/b]
Volunteer with car to drive 3 or 4 volunteers (provided by organiser) to deliver hampers to 3 houses of needy Singaporeans. Driver will remain in vehicle to prevent unwanted parking tickets at windscreen.

[B]Flag off point by Guest-of-Honour:[/B]
ITE Ang Mo Kio (2 hampers will be collected from ITE Ang Mo Kio)

Final hamper to be delivered will be collected from Eunos CC and fetch the final recipient for mass dinner / break fast session together back to Eunos CC by 6.30pm. You will be assisted by 1 volunteer for the final delivery.

If you have a luxury sports car, you will be placed on the ‘front grid’ instead. Your task is only to join the Minister’s entourage to 2 locations with the Lamborghini and Lotus.

[B]Motive:[/B]
To deliver hampers containing food stuff and home appliances to needy Singaporeans at their residences.

[B]Objectives:[/B]
Instill sense of awareness in our youths/volunteers on the plight of the less privileged section of the community. Also to encourage the spirit of giving and sharing among youth volunteers.

Flag off time: 12pm
Start Venue: ITE Ang Mo Kio
End Venue: Eunos CC

Guest of Honour: Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed - (Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Mayor, North East District)
Special Guest: Mr Zainudin Nordin (Mayor, Central Singapore District)

Event T-shirt will be provided. All volunteers will get together for dinner cum break fast session after the event at Eunos CC at 6.30pm.
