Range Rover's EV Debut Keeps The Brand's DNA Intact

After years of development, Range Rover has unveiled its first all-electric SUV. And the message is clear: electric power, not electric identity.

Twin motors combine for up to 550 PS and 850 Nm of torque, the most torque the brand has ever offered. That translates to a 4.3-second 0 - 60mph time.

On range, Range Rover quotes up to 372 miles WLTP, with roughly 333 miles expected in everyday driving. The 118.5 kWh battery is built from two stacked layers and runs an 800-volt system, allowing a 10 to 80% charge in about 22 minutes on a 350 kW rapid charger.

Off-road ability stays fully intact. It can still wade up to 900 mm of water, scale 45-degree inclines and tow as much as 2,500 kg. Its traction system reacts within 50 milliseconds - that’s roughly 100 times quicker than a traditional engine could respond.

A new heat-management system, ThermAssist, shares warmth between the battery, motors and cabin, squeezing out an extra 25 miles of range and slashing heating-related energy use by 40%.

The cabin keeps its signature indulgence: massaging seats, a chilled storage compartment, noise-cancelling tech, and a first-for-Range-Rover fragrance diffuser offering six scent choices. Go for the SV trim and you can add a 21-speaker electrostatic sound setup, plus seats that let occupants physically feel the audio.

Production happens at the brand's Solihull factory in the UK, running alongside its petrol, diesel, and hybrid siblings. The batteries and motors themselves come from JLR's Wolverhampton facility. More than 300 patents were filed in the process, and the car logged 1.5 million kilometres plus a quarter-million hours of combined real-world and simulated testing.

The Range Rover Electric is open for orders now, with a limited First Edition offered in three signature paint finishes.
