SG: Driver flees scene on foot after causing crash

A driver of a silver Audi A8 fled a crash scene after causing an 8 car pileup. The incident, which occurred along Simei Avenue, next to ITE College East, ended up obstructing 2 of the 3 lanes at around 9 am today. The driver of a black Audi involved in the crash claims that he was sitting stationary in traffic, when he heard a loud boom and realised he was rear-ended. His wife, who was in the car at the time, felt pains in her neck, back and stomach, and was conveyed to the Changi General Hospital for treatment. The accident began when the driver of the Silver Audi made contact with other vehicles in a botched overtaking attempt, which sent the German saloon into the road divider. A young man, believed to be the driver of the car, was spotted running away from the scene and is yet to be found. Police investigations are ongoing. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
