SG: Foreign worker killed in worksite crash

A foreign worker was killed when he was run over by a tipper lorry last Saturday. The fatal accident is the third one reported over the past week. The Police and SCDF were informed of the contact, and tended to the victim at the entrance of his worksite at the junction of Tampines Avenue 10 and Tampines Industrial Avenue 2 at around 3:00pm. The deceased is a 27 year old Indian national, and was trapped under the front wheel of the truck. The driver, a 33 year old Indian national, was arrested for causing death by a negligent act. The Ministry of Manpower’s Occupational Safety and Health Inspectorate deployed officers to investigate the accident, and ordered the occupier of the site, Peng Chuan Engineering Construction, to temporarily halt all works.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
