SG: Fuel prices drop

SG: Fuel prices drop

RON92 petrol has fallen below the $2 mark for the first time since 2012. This comes after a global drop in oil prices. As of today, Esso was the latest to cut its prices, reducing the prices of RON92 by 2 cents in a bid to rival the rates offered by its rivals. RON95 petrol has become cheaper as well, falling to about $2 a litre pre-discount across all of the fuel companies locally. RON98 will cost anywhere from $2.12 to $2.18 a litre, whilst the most expensive fuel by far is Shell's V-Power, at $2.43 a litre. The changes mean pump prices are up to 14 cents lower than the rates in October. It also means that fuel now is roughly 20 cents lower than fuel at the same period last year. The lowered rates are still 15 to 20% more expensive than the rates offered in 2010.
