SG: New cars taking longer to go on sale

It is taking longer to homologate new cars for use on roads in Singapore. The reason? Well the LTA is "currently reviewing the Vehicle and Inspection Type Approval System process", and the delay is expected as they scramble to gather information on the vehicles. The perfect example is the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid. The plug-in hybrid arrived in Singapore in November 2013, but has yet to be given the green light.  It is rumoured that the more stringent approval process is to ensure that Category A cars imported do not produce more than 130bhp. They also want to know that the cars cannot be modified to increase engine capacity and power.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
