SG: Part of Orchard Road to become no-car zone

The 2014 Formula One World Championship has swung back to Lewis Hamilton, with his Singapore GP victory. This marks Hamilton’s seventh win for this season and his 29th Formula One win. He now has a three point advantage over Rosberg who was forced to retire due to its gearshift electronics problems - 241 to 238. It is the first time Hamilton has been ahead of the German in the standings since the Spanish Grand Prix back in May. Mercedes continue leading the Constructors' Championship with 479 points.

When the MCE was first opened, there was total chaos on the first day, as confused motorists attempted to navigate through a maze of complex roads to get to their destination. To avoid the same thing from happening again, the LTA has decided give motorists a chance to test new roads before they are officially open on Sunday. The test saw 50 motorists use the new roads, which should be a more direct route to MCE and the CBD. Out of the 50 present, 3 were members of the public, while the other 47 were LTA staff who have not worked on the MCE project. The new roads include a straightened Central Boulevard, which will run parallel to Marina Boulevard, direct access from Maxwell Road to the MCE, along with an extension of Bayfront Avenue to Marina South MRT station. Tweaks to certain road signs were suggested by the test community, and they should be replaced or repositioned before the official opening of the roads at 5:00am on Sunday.

Audi Singapore welcomes the new A3 Cabriolet.  The Cabriolet completes the Audi A3 family range, which was awarded the prestigious 2014 World Car of the Year title.  At the top of its class, the Cabriolet features a systematic lightweight design, efficient engines and high-performance assistance systems. Its length increased from 4.24 to 4.42 meters, its wheelbase from 2.58 to 2.60 meters and its width from 1.77 to 1.79 meters. Only its height (1.41 meters) was reduced by 15 millimeters (0.59 in). The front of the Audi A3 Cabriolet is characterized by the Single frame radiator grille. The rear overhang plays a key role in the harmonious proportions of the two-door car. The windshield frame is made of aluminum and an aluminum-look trim strip runs around the entire car. On the flanks, the design features a taut tornado line and contoured sheet metal surfaces that create a fascinating interplay of light and shadow.
