This year’s Singapore Motorshow promises to bring some great deals for car buyers, with many distributors offering discounts and special deals on their vehicles.

While Volvo does not have any new car launches at the Motorshow, the brand is well represented with almost the full range of its cars on display at the show, even the classic and iconic P1800 is there. New is the Volvo XC60 Volvo Ocean Race edition and the Black Editions for the S60, V60, and S80.

SG: All cars in Category A comply with regulations
The LTA has put cars in Category A under stringent tests to ensure none of them exceed the power output as declared by their respective manufacturers. The regulation, which was put in place last November, was introduced to weed out luxury cars from Cat A COE. Each new model will be put through four dynamometer tests to ensure that they comply with the 130 bhp cap. This is the very reason why the approval process for new cars takes almost two to four months now, as compared to two to four weeks before the new ruling.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.

SG: Less caught parking illegally after CCTV installation
LTA installed CCTVs in 30 locations in 2014 to deter motorists from parking illegally. These cameras, which operate 24 hours daily, help to enforce parking rules along roads that suffer from obstruction as a result of indiscriminately parked vehicles.   Since the install, less are indiscriminately parking their vehicles, and as a result, there has been a significant improvement in traffic conditions at these locations. The scheme will be expanded to cover an additional 40 locations in Q1 of 2015. To alert motorists to the presence of enforcement cameras, CCTV monitoring zones are clearly demarcated by parking restriction lines and signs. Available lamp posts and sign posts within the zones are also painted with a vertical strip in bright orange colour.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
