Subaru WRX STI Specs Revealed!
Full details of Subaru's WRX STI have been revealed, and rest assured the turbocharged, 2.5-litre boxer four, will come with a totally new platform, suspension, and symmetrical all-wheel drive.

The final figures? 296hp at 6,000rpm and a staggering 406Nm at 4,000rpm.
Its proportions are radically altered compared to both the previous Impreza and mainstream new 1.5 and 2.0L models. For example, the wheelbase is 95mm longer than the old car despite overall length being 50mm shorter.
This reduces front and rear overhangs and enhances stability. At 1,795mm wide, the new STI is also 55mm wider than the standard car on which it’s based thanks to the pumped wheel arches, while front and rear tracks are 45 and 40mm greater for better road-holding.
Other unique features include a mesh front grille and a deep bumper design with vertical air vents at either side to help cool the intercooler. Immediately behind each front wheel is a vertical air outlet for the intercooler, topped by an ‘STI’ badge.
The brakes have been developed with the help of Brembo and feature four-pot calipers at the front and twin-pot at the rear. The new STI also boasts stronger low to mid-speed torque thanks to variable-valve timing for the intake and exhaust system and a fast-warm catalytic converter for reduced emissions.
The SI-drive seen in the Legacy range now has a new setting, and probably one that is sorely needed - "Super Sharp," which tightens throttle response and stiffens everything all round, including the differentials.
The new symmetrical all-wheel drive system features a centre viscous-coupling plus front and rear limited-slip-differentials. This shares grip front to rear and side-to-side, constantly adjusting for maximum road-holding.
