Toyota Corolla Nominated for Green Car of the Year

Toyota Motor Corporation announced that it has developed a Pre-collision System (PCS) that uses automatic steering in addition to increased pre-collision braking force and automatic braking to help prevent collision with pedestrians.  The new Pre-collision System with Pedestrian-avoidance Steer Assist, can help prevent collisions in cases where automatic braking alone is not sufficient, such as when the vehicle is travelling too fast or a pedestrian suddenly steps into the vehicle's path. 

Toyota announced the introduction of the i-Road personal mobility concept to the "Ha:mo" urban transport system trials.  The concept which made its debut at 2012 Geneva motor show, will be used alongside existing Toyota COMS personal mobility vehicles from early 2014. "Ha:mo" is an urban transport system designed to combine all forms of public and private transport with the aim of improving traffic flow and minimizing emissions. The system uses electric vehicle car sharing and traffic routing information to ensure the most appropriate form of transportation is used by travelers.

On 20th November, five new Toyota vehicle concepts will make their world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show including the latest development of the Fuel Cell Vehicle(FCV) concept.  The line-up consists of the work being done by Toyota to make a positive impact in society by designing and building ever-better cars that go beyond what people expect from a car. The Toyota FCV Concept will be revealed for the first time at Tokyo.  It previews the fuel cell vehicle Toyota plans to launch around 2015 as a pioneer in the development of hydrogen-powered cars.  The car will have a range of at least 300 miles (500km) on a full tank and a refuelling time of around three minutes, which is approximately the same as for a petrol or diesel vehicle.
