XPENG's 5C Supercharging AI Battery Tech Delivers 420km Range In 10 Minutes

XPENG Motors showcased its latest innovations in smart EVs and artificial intelligence at Auto Shanghai 2025.

It has marked one year since achieving full-stack mass production of its AI system by launching the XPENG World Foundation Model, a next-gen "AI Brain."

This architecture features 35 times more parameters than traditional VLA models, allowing for real-time adaptation to unfamiliar driving situations. Its applications include AI-powered vehicles, robotics and flying cars.

At the booth, XPENG unveiled the P7+, equipped with XPENG's 5C Supercharging AI Battery technology. It offers a 420km range with 10 minutes of charging and an energy efficiency of 12.7kWh per 100km.

After its launch in Hong Kong in April, XPENG began global deliveries of the X9 MPV. It features 496 (not a typo!) enhancements, including the first-ever walk-through zero-gravity seats and advanced autonomous driving capabilities. Within seven days of its launch, the X9 received over 6,000 orders, setting a new record for pure electric MPVs.

In Q1 2025, XPENG delivered 94,008 vehicles, with 7,615 units sent overseas, reflecting a 370% year-over-year increase. The company continues to excel in China’s smart EV market and expand globally, with over 700,000 units delivered worldwide.
