The bumpity-bump twin domed roof is retained, and Toyota claims that the sculpted roof does reduce aerodynamic drag, improving on fuel efficiency.
When the first Vios reached our shores in 2002, it was a clear signal that Toyota was serious in moving their best-selling Corolla model up-market.
While the Corolla did become bigger, better and chock-filled with creature spoils and delivered well on passenger refinement, the Vios held its own.
Toyota’s entry-level sedan was then, a youngster’s dream, with many not spared being kept as standard, often getting rims of all sizes, and other aesthetics of varying quality. The 1.5 litre under the hood was a gem of an engine. Reliable, easy to maintain, and delivered decently well on fuel economy.
In its fourth generation (or you could say, massively face-lifted), it still delivers on the promise of reliable motoring, and practicality.
Departing from the previous car’s almost Corolla-like styling from the front and side, the new car now features a new nose, with black grille/bumper with an opposite slant compared to the old car. The new headlamp clusters sweep further into the front fenders, and now utilises LED technology.
While the previous car displayed a more plain and business-like side profile, there is more side sculpting with this one. Rear tail lamp shape seems to be borrowed from the KIA K3, and overall, there is notably less chrome trim.
The bumpity-bump twin domed roof is retained, and Toyota claims that the sculpted roof does reduce aerodynamic drag, improving on fuel efficiency.
Our “G” trim level test car comes equipped with 16” rims on 50 series, 195 tyres. For better braking, the “G” trim also gets rear disc brakes.
It was pretty good experience... listening ears, cooperative and practical.. quick deal...better experience than Quotz. Recommended for everyone..
