The CTR's styling might divide opinions, but its smooth, muscular power delivery will surely be a joy to any petrolhead. Its stylish, well-equipped cabin also makes the CTR feels like it is worth its asking price. The pretty little R27, on the other hand, is a little gutless below 5,000rpm, but push on and it'll place a broad grin on your face, anytime. Its undoing are the (a) sparse cabin and (b) basic equipment.

So which pocket rocket will I pick? Ideally, I'll have both - the CTR as my daily driver (for the daily grind) and the R27 for the weekend punts and track outings.

However, life is never perfect and if I have to pick one, I'll plonk my cash for the R27 - don't forget, it's my choice for Oneshift Car of the Year 2008...
