surprisingly easy to handle and it comes with (believe it or not) alloy wheels.
What we dislike:

missing reverse sensors despite the Hilux's length.

While its ladder chassis and body-on-frame construction may not do much for ride comfort or on-road handling, what it does is impart the Hilux with a tremendous ability to go just about anywhere (4WD equipped models) and serve just about any purpose.

Try to watch some news about a conflict happening in some part of the world, and chances are you'll catch sight of bullet-riddled Hilux still being driven about by irregular forces or militiamen. You could take the average Joe, put him in a Hilux and it'd be possible for him to end up in the Sahara. Or even Antarctica for that matter.

It's a truck engineered to be as tough as a nail, and we like it for the simple reason that it accomplishes that - and the added driving fun it offers...
