BMW World 2014
BMW Group Asia opens the BMW World 2014 – Stories in Motion, which is set to be one of the largest automotive brand showcases in Asia. Held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre (Hall B & C; over 6,000 sqm of floor space), the event will be open to the public from 1 to 3 August 2014 and will be telling the unique stories of BMW and MINI. The event also marks the official Singapore launch of the BMW i sub-brand, alongside the BMW i3 (purpose-designed premium electric vehicle) and the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car. The BMW i8 embodies a revolutionary, future-focused interpretation of the driving pleasure for which BMW is renowned. It was purpose-designed as a plug-in hybrid sports car offering agile performance and outstanding efficiency.
An exceptionally lightweight and aerodynamically optimised body – including a passenger cell made from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) – plus advanced BMW eDrive drive system technology, a compact, highly turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and intelligent energy management all come together to create an overall concept that represents a new landmark in the Efficient Dynamics development strategy.
To lay a successful foundation for electro-mobility to thrive in Singapore, BMW Group Asia and Performance Motors Ltd have jointly invested more than S$5 million in Singapore. The investment made pertains to various key areas including; sales, aftersales, training, communication and infrastructure.
Additionally, BMW Group Asia has launched the comprehensive 360º ELECTRIC, an all-rounded portfolio of services comprising four key pillars; (1) Home Charging, (2) Public Charging, (3) Assistance Services and (4) Flexible Mobility that come standard with every BMW i vehicle, to help customers overcome the perceived barriers of owning an electric vehicle (EV).
BMW World 2014 is held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Halls B and C, from 1st August to 3rd August, 10:00am to 10:00pm.
