Citroen Launches All-New Citroen C4 Picasso And Grand C4 Picasso In Singapore
Cycle & Carriage France Pte Ltd announced the official launch of the long-awaited CITROËNC4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso. Available in 2 body types, the CITROËNC4 Picasso is a 5-seater Adventure MPV targeting at smaller families while the Grand C4 Picasso is the favourite 7-seater Family MPV for drivers needing more space. Prior to its arrival in Singapore, the Grand C4 Picasso has already won many international awards, including BBC Top Gear (UK) – “Family Car of the Year 2013”, Autobild (Germany) – Golden Steering Wheel 2013 for “Family MPV of the Year”, and WhatCar? Awards (UK) 2014 - “MPV of the Year”.
Locally, the CITROËNGrand C4 Picasso was the best-selling European MPV in 2010, and has remained a clear favourite among MPV buyers since. The current model sold out in mid-2013, and hence the introduction of the new model is long overdue.
Built on the new and more efficient EMP2 platform, the all-new CITROËNC4 Picassos have achieved a spectacular reduction in weight (of up to 140kg), and fuel consumption, now boasting a best-in-class fuel economy of km/L, and being eligible for a $15,000 CEVS rebate for emitting only 105g/km.
On the design-front, CITROËNC4 Picasso’s and Grand C4 Picasso’s strong, expressive designs are visible in the dynamic lines and high-tech headlights with LED 3D rear lights. The 5.7 square meters of glazing with the zenith windscreen and panoramic glass roof creates the CITROËN-signature loft-style interior with a bright, uncluttered ambience.
To build the new C4 Picassos, CITROËNimplemented specific control procedures, designed to achieve the required level of quality on leaving the plant, right from launch. Inspections on visual appearance, geometry, compliance, sealing, quality and functionality are carried out more frequently and to even more stringent standards. Each vehicle built underwent dynamic track tests in order to verify the smooth running of each sub-system and each item of equipment, both functional and comfort features.
In addition, the car was driven for more than 3.5 million kilometres during the various stages of development, in all driving conditions and climates, by 1,000 test drivers including mums and dads to ensure a properly finished product not only useful for families, but a car that mums and dads are equally excited to drive and to be seen driving. With the finished product, CITROËNfiled over 116 patents.
The all-new CITROËNC4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso joins the other 4 models currently in the CITROËNturbo-diesel range. Now, the full range includes: CITROËNC4 Picasso e-HDi, CITROËNGrand C4 Picasso e-HDi, CITROËN C4 e-HDi, CITROËN C5 e-HDi, CITROËN DS4 e-HDi and CITROËN DS5 e-HDi.
The entire range of CITROËN’sturbo-diesel cars stay in Category A COE after COE re-categorisation in February 2014.
