Cyclist in ICU after being run over by car

31-year old sales manager Melvyn Chua Tong Ling was sentenced to four months jail after a severe case of road rage. Chua then reversed into the taxi and damaging it, before attempting to claim the taxi’s insurance. The road rage began when Chua stopped to pick up his son on Ang Mo Kio Street 44. Since the 1 lane road was blocked,  taxi driver Ng Chor Foo had no choice but to overtake him by going onto the opposite lane. When Chua had tried to move off, the taxi cut in front of him, angering Chua.

A trailer carrying 4 bulky concrete slabs skidded off PIE and onto the opposite lane last Friday. According to information released by the police, the accident occurred just off the Eng Neo Avenue towards the PIE. The lorry was driving along Eng Neo Avenue when it skidded, going across the road and onto the opposite lane, somehow managing to miss a large tree before coming to rest in a ditch.

Daryl Wee, 51, a taxi driver, was taking his passenger to Tanjong Rhu where he was stopped at the junction with Middle Road by a red light. The accident occured at the smaller junction of Victoria St & Middle Road, close to the scene of the fatal collision between a Ferrari 599GTO and a taxi last year. He pulled up at a light, only to find a Mercedes Benz E class continue driving straight on at the ‘turn right’ lane. The Benz nearly knocked down 3 pedestrians that were crossing the road at the time. That is not the worst part of the story. As soon as the Benz beat the lights, it veered violently to the left and drove across the junction, only to find itself wedged in the rear of a stationery taxi. The impact forced the taxi forwards, clattering into the back of a blue lorry in front. Out of fear, the passengers onboard the taxi made a quick exit.
