Kia launches new Optima at Singapore Motorshow 2016
Kia’s largest family sedan offering here has just been updated and made better than before.
Featuring sporty looks that are as functional as they are sporty, the new car sees an increased wheelbase of 10 mm and 25 mm in width. Together with another 10 mm increase in height, the new Optima has a more spacious cabin and offers greater load carrying space.
On the inside, Kia has gone the luxurious route and made use of more soft touch materials for a more quality feel. Metallic accents and gloss black trim adds to the classiness and modernity of the new interior.
Also aiding in the relaxed and comfortable driving environment are developments to reduce noise, vibration and harshness. This is done by stiffening various parts of the chassis and more insulation from the outside to reduce external noises.
Another highlight of the new Optima is the new developed suspension set up of the car. Featuring fully independent suspension all-round, the front also has two additional bushing mounts to increase lateral stiffness for improved steering response and better traction.
The Optima comes with a 163 PS 2.0l engine found in the outgoing model with performance figures of 10.5 seconds for the century sprint. A six speed automatic gearbox is fitted as standard.
