Local News: COE Results for July Round 1
In this first round of bidding for July for Certificates of Entitlement (COE), most results in the different categories have decreased.

Category A (Cars under 1,600cc) segment COEs have closed noticeable lower this round at $58,700 .
Elsewhere across the board, price in Category B (cars over 1,600cc) also decreased by a few thousands to close at $65,501.
Prices in the Category E (Open Category) have decreased so slightly by a considerable margin to close at $79,001 .

SG: Train services on NSL to be halted for track inspection
A massive power failure disrupted services on the NSEWL yesterday. Engineers managed to isolate the issue and got the EWL going again after the evening rush hour, but the issue on the NSL proved a little more tricky to resolve. Train services will be resume on both lines today, but trains will operate at a slower speed.
Slight delays are to be expected too, as engineers from both LTA and SMRT scramble to stabilise the system. Bus bridging services will be provided until normal service resumes.
The entire NSL will also be put out of service from 11am to 4pm today to allow said engineers to take a look and figure out the cause of the power trip that led to the shutdown of power across the entire network yesterday.
Commuters are advised to check the latest updates online before embarking on their commute, and if necessary, arrange for alternative modes of transport.

SG: Noise barriers to be installed on the PIE
Noise barriers will be installed on the PIE after initial trials have been successful. The pilot batch of the 6 metre-high barriers were installed along Anak Bukit Flyover in October last year, and more will be installed along along West Coast Highway near Block 44, Telok Blangah Drive, and the new flyover along Braddell Road, near Block 138, Bishan Street 12.
Also slated to receive the barriers, is the stretch along to Swiss View and Greenbank Park. They will run for 400 metres along each side. A tender has been called and works will begin next year.
The installation will help test the efficacy of said barriers along along at-grade sections , which, more often than not, are obstructed by trees, lamp posts, signs, drains and uneven terrain.

Driving STEM Education among Students in Singapore
SINGAPORE, 25 June 2015 – Central Singapore CDC and Caltex launched Fuel Your School – STEM @ Central Singapore on 22 June 2015, a new enrichment programme designed to enhance the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) capabilities and skills of students in Singapore. Targeted at lower secondary school students, the programme also aims to encourage students to major in STEM-related fields in future.
