Local News: COE Results for July Round 2

The second round of July’s Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding is out.

The results of the second round of July’s Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding is out. Little change was seen in Category A with prices increasing to $56,002 from $55,989. They are the highest seen within a decade. However, Category B COE prices have increased by around 6% to end at $72,501 from $68,501. Lastly, the Open Category saw the biggest hike in price by around 8% from $68,811 to $74,490.

High COE prices have seen numerous changes in the profile of car buyers. Off-peak car registration has seen its biggest drop in numbers to date.

Entry-level marques suffer from a huge decrease in sales. The corollary is that non off-peak cars of premium marques such as BMW has seen the biggest increase in registrations.
