Chery A5 2.0 - $51,999 (-$7,000)
Forget about the Mk 2 Golf based A168, the A5 is Chery’s best effort yet at a mid-sized saloon. The styling is rather nondescript but the A5 is superbly well equipped for its meager asking price – ABS, airbags, factory stereo and more.

Honda Civic 1.6 - $63,800 ( -$7,000)
There’s nothing much to introduce about the Civic anymore as we should all be familiar with it by now. It’s more than four years since the Civic first made its debut but it still looks and feels contemporary. The base 1.6 model is a good all rounder for its price – the i-VTEC motor makes 125bhp, making the Civic one of the most powerful family saloon in the 1.6 class.
Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C - $115,000 (-$5,000)
There are many who have said that Subaru has lost the plot by making their cars to cater to the mass market instead of rally anoraks. The Spec C will certainly make these critics eat their words. The Spec C is what the WRX is all about n the first place – a homologation special made to go rallying in the Finnish forests of Swedish snow. It is a 2007 MY car but what the heck – they don’t make cars like this anymore.

Chery T11 2.0 - $64,999 (-$5,000)
A CR-V sized 2-litre SUV for two-thirds the price of a Japanese model? That’ll be the Chery T11. The styling is unimaginative to say the least – it’s a mix of old CR-V and RAV4 but the T11 offers a solid and convincing package for its miniscule price tag.

Subaru Legacy wagon 2.0i - $93,000 (-$5,000)
This is the best value-for-money wheels for anyone who needs a gargantuan boot more often than not. The big estate has a voluminous boot that is matched by a spacious interior. The driving dynamics are more tuned for comfort so driving enthusiasts might be underwhelmed by it but it makes for a practical and safe family car.

In addition to the above-mentioned models, you can also look forward to price drops on more Subaru models including the Impreza 1.5 and Legacy GT.
