McLaren Unveils 788HS - Ultimate Evolution Of Its Supercar Series

McLaren has pulled the wraps off the new 788HS, the final and most extreme evolution of the acclaimed supercar family that began with the 720S and later spawned the 765LT and 750S.

Carrying the rare "High Sport" designation previously reserved for only two McLaren models, the 788HS is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 788 PS and 800 Nm of torque. Combined with a dry weight of just 1,265 kg, it boasts a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 623 PS per tonne - the highest of any model in the series.

Performance figures are equally impressive, with 0-100km/h dispatched in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h.

Beyond outright power, the 788HS receives the most advanced aerodynamic package ever fitted to the platform. A carbon-fibre S-Duct bonnet, raised active rear spoiler, Formula 1-inspired rear diffuser and bespoke front splitter increase downforce by 10 percent compared to the 765LT.

Chassis upgrades include bespoke Proactive Chassis Control III suspension tuning, a 5 mm lower front ride height, centre-lock forged alloy wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes derived from the McLaren Senna.

Production is limited to just 200 examples globally, split equally between Coupe and Spider variants, with every car individually customised through McLaren Special Operations (MSO).
