Motoring Heritage Day 2014
On Sunday, 31st August, the annual Motoring Heritage Day was held at Bosch’s headquarters in Bishan, showcasing an assortment of thirty-odd classic and vintage cars, a collection of vintage racing bicycles and seven rather special motorcycles.
It was a treat for enthusiasts of cars from the yesteryear, as extremely rare cars like the 1939 BMW 327 Cabriolet and the 1958 Jaguar XK-150 were on display. Alongside were other interesting exhibits like the 1934 Ford Tudor, which had no real paint but was full of character, or the 1960 Fiat 600 Abarth replica, which sported a bolted-on frame that kept the rear bonnet open permanently to drastically improve engine cooling.
The event was organised by the Malaysia and Singapore Vintage Car Register (MSVCR), in collaboration with sponsor, Robert Bosch (SEA) Pte Ltd, and was aimed at making these rare historic vehicles more accessible to the public.
The owners of the cars were also on hand to share the stories of their vehicles, while tours were also conducted for visitors by the members of the club.
