The Porsche Macan, now in its second model generation, has transitioned to an all-electric form a decade after its initial launch. The new Macan 4 starts at an indicative price of S$254,888, and the Macan Turbo is priced from S$388,088. Owners will receive complimentary charging benefits at Porsche Destination Charging sites in collaboration with SP Group, offering over 100 charging points, and the Porsche x Shell Recharge High Performance Charging network, covering major highways from Singapore to northern Thailand. The new Macan is anticipated to be available for customer deliveries in Singapore by the end of the year.

The new Macan features electric motors powered by a 100kWh lithium-ion battery with 95kWh usable capacity, using Porsche's innovative Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture. Fast DC charging at up to 270kW enables a 10 to 80 percent charge in about 21 minutes. Notably, the battery allows efficient bank charging at 135kW on 400-volt stations and supports AC charging at 11kW from household wall boxes. The combined WLTP range is up to 613km in the Macan 4 and up to 591km in the Macan Turbo.

The new Macan features distinctive design elements, including staggered 22-inch wheels and a longer wheelbase with short front and rear overhangs. The headlights are divided into two parts, with a flat upper light unit emphasising width and a lower main headlight module offering optional matrix LED technology. The sleek and sporty design is enhanced by the Porsche flyline, frameless doors and side blades. The rear showcases pronounced shoulders, and the Porsche logo is centrally placed within a sculptural 3D light strip.

Porsche combines signature design elements with aerodynamic efficiency in the new Macan. The Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) system, boasting a low drag coefficient of 0.25, positions the Macan as one of the market's most aerodynamically streamlined SUVs. This not only enhances the vehicle's overall range but also contributes to reduced power consumption. Notable features of the PAA system include an adaptive rear spoiler, active cooling flaps, sealed underbody with flexible covers, air curtains beneath the headlight module and rear elements like lateral tear-off edges and a louvred diffuser.

Swallows luggages like a champ

The new Macan excels in everyday practicality with high-quality equipment and spacious design. Electrification has increased luggage space, offering up to 540 litres behind the rear seat and an additional 84 litres in the 'frunk' under the bonnet. Folding down the rear seat increases the capacity to 1,348 litres. With a maximum towing capacity of 2,000kg, the new Macan balances performance and practicality effectively.

Screens, more screens

The Macan boasts an advanced display and operating system, offering up to three screens, such as the 12.6-inch curved-design instrument cluster and the 10.9-inch central display. A notable feature is the passenger's ability to access information and control the infotainment system via their own optional 10.9-inch screen while the car is in motion. Furthermore, the Porsche Driver Experience introduces a head-up display with augmented reality technology for an immersive driving experience.
