Porsche Adds More Character To The Taycan Experience

Porsche hasn't gone chasing more horsepower this time. Instead, it's making the Taycan more fun to drive and much nicer to live with.

The biggest new feature is E-Shift. It simulates eight gear changes using the steering-wheel paddles, complete with shift jolts, a virtual rev counter and a beefed-up Porsche Electric Sport Sound. It won't fool anyone into thinking it's a flat-six, but it does add a lot more character to the driving experience.

The cabin gets an equally big update. Porsche's latest infotainment system is up to five times faster than before, with smoother menus, customisable widgets and a new 3D model of your own Taycan sitting front and centre.

The voice assistant has also had a “brain” upgrade. It now understands more natural conversations, supports Google-powered destination searches and even lets you ask follow-up questions without having to say "Hey Porsche" every time.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration have been improved too, while the navigation system now does a better job planning routes and charging stops.

Elsewhere, there's a faster 25W wireless phone charger and support for over-the-air software updates, so the system can keep improving without a trip to the workshop.

None of these changes transform the Taycan overnight, but together they make Porsche's electric sports car feel that bit more engaging on the move and a whole lot easier to use every day.

The 2027 Porsche Taycan is now available to order in Singapore, with prices starting from S$408,288 before COE. The price includes a five-year maintenance and warranty package, along with registration fees, road tax, GST and estimated taxes.
