Pre-schoolers learn road safety with Audi

To help keep children safe on the roads, Audi Singapore will be launching a road safety programme this year for pre-schoolers aged between five and six. The ‘Audi Future Drivers’ programme is in partnership with Pat’s Schoolhouse and aims to educate over 900 children across its 16 centres in Singapore.

The programme begins next month and will see these children undergo a hands-on session in several aspects of road safety through a fun and role-play learning environment. These include being guided how to drive safely using Audi R8 mini-electric cars on an interactive course, understanding how to use the road wisely and identifying traffic signs.

“As an automotive brand, it is only natural for us to pave the way to cultivating a safer and better road culture for everyone. Audi is committed to road safety. We believe that an education on road safety should begin from a very early age to create more responsible drivers in the future. Through this initiative, Audi is committed to taking the first step in guiding children to being vigilant and independent on the road,” says Mr. Jeff Mannering, Managing Director, Audi Singapore.

Commenting on the programme, Ms. Julia Teo, Deputy Director of Operations at Pat’s Schoolhouse says, “We have always inculcated a hands-on approach to teaching our children practical skills that will not only take them through their early years, but through life. This includes road safety which is taught at the Kindergarten level. Participating in the ‘Audi Future Drivers’ programme is excellent because this complements our philosophy of allowing children to learn beyond the classroom setting, in an experiential way, while within a safe environment.”
