S-Class Coupe comes to Singapore

The car attempts to set the benchmark in the ultra-luxury Coupe segment, going up against the likes of the Bentley Continental GT and Rolls-Royce Wraith. Key highlights of this new luxury barge include LED High Performance headlamps featuring 47 stunning Swarovski crystals each.

Exterior design is characterised by rear-wheel-drive proportions, emphasised by the hallmark Mercedes dropping line. The long bonnet with pronounced lines and powerdomes underscores the impressive V8 power plant underneath the hood. Sculptured and contoured lines create a sensuous character, with an elegance that’s designed to be more showy than sporty.

The S-Class Coupe’s interior also represents Avant-Garde quality and the utmost in automobile luxury. High-end materials like Nappa leather and chrome accented ash wood trim create an opulent cabin, while 2 31.2cm TFT displays complement it with modernity and display the technological prowess of the car.

The new car also comes with a laundry list of options including a high definition Burmester surround sound system and ambient lighting with 7 colours and 5 dimming levels. AMG sport kit can optionally be included for a more aggressive and sporty look.

A powerful biturbo 4.7l V8 drives the rear wheels, with 455hp and 700Nm available from as low as 1800 rpm. Also taking the segment to a whole new level is the all-new 9G-TRONIC gearbox, which is a first for any ultra-luxury coupe. Air suspension can be included, together with Mercedes’ Magic Body Control which will look at the road ahead and compensate for it accordingly.

Going round a bend will also see the car perform with more agility than one would expect of a large car such as the S-Class Coupe, with Mercedes’ new curve tilting function that lets the Coupe lean into bends much like a racing cyclist. This allows greater ride comfort and better dynamics, so that occupants will be exposed to the least body roll and sit firmly in their plush seats as the car takes corners more like an SLK.

The S-Class Coupe S 500 begins at $613,888 including COE, and is available at the Cycle and Carriage showroom along Alexandra road.
