SG: Delivery man fined for damaging bus

What do cars, watches and jewellery have in common? Well the sales have been steadily plunging! (Well, in Singapore at least). Overall retail has been down almost 9% as compared to the same period last year. If we go into specifics, the sale of motor vehicles has decreased 36.1% from last year, compared to the 16.3% drop in the sale of watches and jewellery. Experts believe the downward trend will continue, as buyers often think twice before purchasing a new vehicle as a result of the loan rules introduced last year.

The all-new 911 Targa 4S was launched at Porsche Center Singapore last week with a special guest appearance by Grant Larson, designer of the 911 Targa.  More than 200 guests witnessed the unveiling of the latest generation of the extravagant 911 Model. The model is the first to combine the classic Targa concept with state-of-the-art roof technology.  Just like the original Targa, the new model has the wide bar instead of B pillars, a moving roof part above the front seats a wrap-around rear window without C pillars.  Unlike the older classic models, the roof panel can now be opened and closed at the press of a button.

French joint venture, Veolia Transport RATP Asia, will be putting together a team and bidding for the first set of bus routes LTA will tender later in 2014. The firm’s Director of Business Development, Mr. Emmanuel Vivant, has revealed that a bid manager has not yet been chosen, but will be based in Singapore permanently. The firm’s parent companies, Veolia Transport and RATP Group, have buses operating in Australia, the UK, and China. This marks the 2nd foreign player that is interested in a share of the operating pie; Australia’s Tower Transit was the first.
