SG: New bus services to boost connectivity to MRT stations
Private operators will run 5 new bus services, introduced to help improve connectivity from four towns to their bus interchanges or MRT stations. These services will ply the roads from 30th December. The Peak Period Short Services will complement existing feeder services, and help cope with high demand during peak hours. These 5 new bus services include 265P in Ang Mo Kio, 285P in Clementi, 903P in Woodlands and 811P and 812P in Yishun. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.

Motor Show Returns To Singapore
The Singapore Motor show will make its return to the motoring scene in January next year. Presented by Motor Traders Association of Singapore (MTA), in collaboration with MediaCorp, the Singapore Motor show 2015 will see 26 car brands participating in the event from January 15 to 18, 2015 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
“Motor shows in Singapore have always ignited interest and imagination about cars,” says Mr. Glenn Tan, President of MTA. “The MTA has been eager to revive the Motor show, since the last one was held in 2008. The industry feels strongly about bringing this important institution back to life in Singapore and I’m pleased that the 2015 edition will not disappoint.”

SG: Further improvements planned for rail network
As part of the government’s plans to improve the rail network, not only will new lines be added, but existing lines will be upgraded as well. Two new lines, the Downtown Line (DTL) and the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), are currently under construction, and existing lines are receiving a refresh too; four stations will be added on the East-West Line, and one new station will be added on the North-South Line.
The LTA has ordered a whole new batch of trains as well, scheduled to be delivered and operational from 2015 onwards. To cope with the added capacity, several stations will be revamped. Currently, Clementi, Commonwealth and Queenstown stations are undergoing upgrading, which, when completed, should equip these stations with new station entrances, more fare gates and ticketing machines. A new pedestrian link bridge will be built to supplement the existing one and to improve accessibility. Some stations will undergo an even more radical makeover. Not dissimilar to the Jurong East Modification Project, Tanan Merah will also receive a new platform, to improve the frequency of trains heading to and from Changi Airport.
