Singapore: Starsauto to discontinue as Chevrolet distributor
It's official: Starsauto Pte Ltd will no longer sell Chevrolet vehicles.

There were signs earlier this month that such a move would take place. On June 1, General Motors Overseas Distribution Centre (ODC) released a press statement re-affirming their commitment to the Singapore market, in spite of their parent company's financial troubles.

In the statement, General Motors ODC highlighted the re-appointment of Alpine Motors as a dealer of Chevrolet cars. Starsauto however, was not mentioned.
A few weeks later on June 17, Alpine Motors revealed the refurbished 3S Chevrolet Centre in Ubi. While the press release contained quotes from Alpine Motors' managing director, there was again no mention of Starsauto. A spokesperson from Starsauto stated that "...from 1st July 2009, Starsauto Pte Ltd will no longer be the dealer for Chevrolet in Singapore."
"This gesture is in line with our parent company, the Wearnes Group’s ongoing efforts to strengthen our core automotive distribution and service businesses. This will enable Wearnes to focus on segments that provide wider foundations for regional partnerships and growth."
