Strakka Racing Ramps Up LMP2 Testing Programmes In The Run Up To Le Mans
Following the first wet-weather running for its all new Strakka DOME S103 at Silverstone this week, Strakka Racing continues to progress the development of the next generation LMP2 car. After running at the British GT test on Tuesday, the team now heads to Europe next week for a comprehensive three day test at Spa. “We continue to follow our scheduled test plan and next week our aim is to get all drivers valuable seat time,” says sportscar team manager Karl Patman. “Although track conditions were quite extreme, in a lot of respects, it’s a great proving ground for what Le Mans sometimes has to offer and the car performed very well.”
Alongside the track running, Strakka Racing is benefitting from its new, bespoke in-house LMP simulator, racking up over 16,000km to date.
“Every week, we receive new information from DOME and correlating this to the growing volume of data acquired on track, we now have an increasingly accurate model to accelerate development and driver acclimatization,” adds Patman.
The team will now head to Spa with Nick Leventis, Jonny Kane and Danny Watts scheduled to run during the three days.
