Subaru WRX STI Wagon to be JDM only
Unlike the previous generations of the WRX, the current gen lacks a wagon in the lineup. You can get the base-model Impreza as a wagon though, but that certainly isn’t the same as having a full blooded WRX STI as one. However, ever since Subaru showed off the Levorg S Concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon last January, consumers and enthusiasts have swooned over the thought of owning such a fast wagon. Response has been so positive, that Subaru themselves have said that they will put a production version of the Levorg S Concept, powered by WRX STI internals, into production. The concept car had power in the form of the same 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder boxer connected to a six-speed manual as per the WRX. The production car, dubbed the Levorg STI, will most likelyend up with the STI's 2.5-liter turbo four. Expect the car to be lavished with a healthy dose of Carbon Fibre trim pieces, as well as alloy wheels courtesy of BBS, wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sports tyres.
Unfortunately, when it does enter production, Subaru says that the car will be meant for the Japanese Domestic Market only. However, with the massive Subaru fanbase on our shores we will not be at all surprised to eventually see said car in a parallel importer near you.
