In six weeks, Volkswagen AG has taken over dealership of Volkswagen passenger cars here from Car and Cars, and will now deal directly in Singapore. The new Volkswagen Centre Singapore, which boasts 100 improvements to enhance customer’s satisfaction and experience, is a first of its kind here as no other manufacturers have established direct dealerships.

The revamp sets to provide greater convenience and better service to customers with reduced waiting time for new car deliveries, as well as an increase in the models and options available. Servicing will also be more efficient, as Volkswagen has expanded its Service Centre facilities and moved its fleet sales servicing workshop to Sin Ming.

In line with a “complete experience with Volkswagen”, customers will also be able to obtain car insurance and financing packages there through Volkswagen Car Financing.

Dr Olaf Duebel, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Singapore, said, “By locating our entire product offerings and services in the same facility, we believe that customers will find their experience with Volkswagen much more satisfactory. The one-stop shopping concept will also allow us to serve our customers better.”

Patrons at the centre can also expect more trendy amenities like a children’s corner, a Volks café and also free internet access.

Also announced at the grand opening was the launch of seven new car models in 2007, with the first of the lot, the Phaeton Normal Wheel Base being shown to guests.

Next to arrive will be the much-awaited Golf GT, which features Volkswagen’s Twincharger engine, the new Jetta, Passat Variant, Passat V6 and also the Passat R36. Before the year ends, Volkswagen also aims to bring in the Eos, their first coupe-cabriolet, a Touareg and also the Touran.
