Audi A5 Coupe 2.0 TFSI quattro S-tronic Review: Power dresser

Audi A5 Coupe 2.0 TFSI quattro S-tronic Review: Power dresser

The S5 impressed us all, but how about the entry-level A5 2.0 TFSI? Will it mechanically compliment Walter de Silva's work of art? It being a road tax-friendly proposition, well, should sway the coupe-buying crowd into its direction...

What we like:
pros
The smaller
pros
2.0-litre turbocharged engine packs quite a punch
pros
sexy styling that captures attention and typical Audi build quality.
What we dislike:
cons
Seats that could do with more support
cons
overly-enthusiastic brakes
cons
intrusive wind noise at three-figure speeds.

The S5 is awesome, the A5 V6 is good, but the A5 2.0T is the one that should move sales number for the entire A5 range.

At a time where consumers are still spending, albeit extra carefully, and our road-tax scheme isn't exactly that friendly to the bulk of motorists, one doesn't have much choice when shopping for a coupe. So yes, if you want to splurge on a coupe that has much style and emotion drawn onto it (with that premium badge), this is the one car to get. Plus, you can outrun those mockers in their lesser hatch when push comes to shove.

It has its faults, but there's so much other better things going on for it, it's forgivable. And that's a wrap...
