Singapore - Champion Motors launches the second generation Suzuki Ignis. We first saw the car displayed at the Singapore Motor Show back in 2017, and were really beginning to wonder if the car was going to reach our shores.

Suzuki’s cute and boxy, zippy in the city SUV is a unique offering, with the added versatility of roof rails. Their SUV pays homage to the SC100 from the late 70s, with its upright headlight cluster, there are also those upright tail lights and sloping rear glass, complete with gills pressed into the base of its c-pillar. Since it is an SUV, there are Vitara references too, with its clamshell-shaped bonnet and fender garnish.

The interior of the Ignis, thanks to its tall profile, is roomy and comfortable, with space between occupants, ample headroom, and legroom. In the rear, the Ignis boasts luggage space volume measuring more than 500 litres with the split 50:50 rear seats folded. The infotainment unit which supports both Apple and Android devices, can be toggled from the steering wheel, via its navigation bar.

The Suzuki Ignis is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including Pre-collision system – Dual Camera Brake Support (DCBS), which recognises both vehicles and pedestrians. Other features like its Lane Departure Warning Function and Weaving Alert, warns you if you are pulling out of lane.

In Singapore, there is just one power option, 1.2 litre DUALJET engine paired with their SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild hybrid system, delivering 80hp and 107Nm, which is paired with a CVT for improved efficiency. With this setup, Suzuki claims that the Ignis is able to deliver a combined 18.5km/l.

The new Suzuki Ignis is available with two interior colour variations and in a total of 18 body colours, that includes seven dual tone options.

The Suzuki Ignis retails at an introductory price starting from $108,900 for COE cycle of 7 to 20 October 2021 (12pm SGT).
