F1: Relative silence on Day 1 of Jerez Test The Pit Lane at Jerez was surprising quiet, considering that it was Day 1 of testing for the F1 boys. The first car out on track was the Mercedes W05 of Lewis Hamilton. Raikkonen set out in his F14T to do some laps, only for his car to break down 5 corners into the first lap. After being brought back in and mended, it was sent out again, and Kimi smashed Lewis’s laptime. As for the Red Bulls, their cars were tucked away after the launch, as the mechanics scramble to get the car running in time for the test. The RB10 first embraced the tarmac at 16:45pm(23:45pm SGT), with Vettel behind the wheel. The car was on an installation lap, and he then proceeded to do two more, but failed to set a timed lap. Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull aren’t the only ones struggling. Mclaren and Williams are as well. The Mclaren MP4-29 suffered from electrical problems that pretty much bound it to the garage, while the mechanics work on it. Same story with Williams, although they managed to get their car running with an hour to spare.

  According to Ford's analysis of the recently released and latest Polk global vehicle registration data through the third quarter of 2013, the Ford Focus continues to be the best-selling vehicle nameplate in the world. With strong growth in China, Focus global registrations from January through September 2013 grew  to 856, 587, a 16.1% year-over-year increase.  China was the biggest contributor to the success with 303,481 registrations, representing 85% year-over-year increase, according to Polk, which recently was acquired by IHS.

  The Audi Q7 already cuts an imposing figure, but new S line Style Edition and S line Sport Edition versions of the seven-seat, air-suspended luxury SUV ramp up its visual impact even further through striking styling enhancements. The S line Style Edition specification is available in conjunction with 3.0-litre V6 TDI 245PS and 4.2-litre V8 TDI 340PS engines. In the S line Style Edition, the standard 21-inch five-segment-spoke alloy wheels are replaced by five-arm rotor design matt titanium-finish wheels of the same size which are exclusive to this model in the Q7 range. These sit beneath a body which looks even more rugged thanks to the addition of an upgraded off-road styling package which includes stainless steel underbody protectors and extended wheel arches flowing into special bumpers with modified lower sections  - uniquely in the Edition models these are painted in body colour.
