On 13th August 2010, Mazda Motor Corporation announced a power-steering related recall on Mazda3 2.0-litres & Mazda5 vehicles in USA, China and Taiwan.

In some cases, the driver may experience heaviness in steering feel. When this happens, the driver can still steer the car, but more effort will be required.

Fortunately, a recall is not required in Singapore as the incidence rate is very low and there have not been any safety-related occurrences to-date.

However as a preventative measure, Mazda Motor (S) Pte Ltd will be conducting a Special Service Programme (SSP) on Mazda3 2.0-litres & Mazda5 vehicles which were manufactured from 1st April 2007 to 30th November 2008.
